thought for today
A favorite line from a lovely book I just read:
When someone asks us where we want to be in our lives,
the last thing that occurs to us is to look down at our feet and say,
“Here, I guess, since this is where I am.”
Now, a question for you:
How do we make right here the place we want to be today?

Good thought, Pam – being content with the “here & now” is a crucial part of the equation for happiness (not to be confused with satisfaction

Each day, when I wake, I ask Him to help me make the most of what I have been given. What more can I ask for? There is no other place I would rather be than right here, right now. I’m here right now for a reason, so I can choose to be miserable or choose to make the most of it.

That’s a lovely quote.
It’s a daily decision for me. I have to choose contentment with the here and now. But I’m still not very good at it, I’ll admit. *sigh*

Great thought. If here’s where I want to be right now, I’d better start running someplace else…quick! (It’s a little sobering sometimes to realize we chose where we are.) But most of the time I think I am exactly where I want to be, because I’m trying so hard to be guided by a loving God.
